On games and information consumers
Two items on my Twitter from publishing guru Jane Friedman:
1. 92 percent of 2 year olds in the United States play digital games.
2. Michael Bhaskar reports an average American consumes the equivalent info of 175 newspapers a day.
From me: I sometimes engage in thinking of an “old timer,” but hard to believe digital games are the optimum way to teach 2 year olds. But, maybe.
On the second point, people want news and information. They are going to be consumers in that area. Just a matter of who is delivering.
